Noble Trophies
By courtney | December 1, 2009
For many years, Dad and I have gone on the Christmas Tree Stakeout on the morning after Thanksgiving. There is an amazing tree farm just outside of Monroe, WA that is only open that one day (plus maybe Saturday morning, if there are trees left). Because they never allow overcutting, these trees are always just lovely… and precious as gold! Luckily Dad and I have superb stakeout skills, not to mention excellent taste in trees. Don’t even try to take home a better one than ours. You won’t.

The noble firs this year were hit by a nasty blight, as well as a wickedly hot summer for the PNW (100+ degrees!). There were very few left. Since we were there first, we found the best!

Trussing the trees like this make them much easier to get home!

The trophies are ready for the drive home! Recognize the Black Flash, the truck I used to drive all over Washington State. She seems to have gained a NRA sticker while I’ve been in Oregon… hmmm…

We scored our Christmas Tree yesterday after searching all over Little Rock. The prices were incredible 80-90$ for a 6 foot tree??? We found one at Home Depot for $25 (well that was what they charged us, not what was listed) I figured the needles will drop off in less than a day. Was amazed to see that it actually came from Oregon!!! All the way to Little Rock Arkansas….and we have pine trees here. Free enterprise is a grand thing.
