Home again

By courtney | July 11, 2010

We are home again! For those who didn’t know, we took the week off from work and met Keith’s parents in Colorado Springs for a lovely 5 days of hiking and eating and eating some more. Before you ask: there was no particular reason we chose Colorado Springs. Seriously. It was just in between Oregon and Arkansas, without Arkansas’ humidity or Oregon’s dreary dampness.

The trip was absolutely gorgeous! Better yet, we missed the main part of the Oregon heat wave (90+ degrees does NOT agree with pregnant ladies) and enjoyed moderate weather in Colorado Springs. We tromped around the Garden of the Gods, saw Seven Falls all lit up at night, explored Miramont Castle, went down a gold mine, toured a famous bordello, climbed around the ancient cliff dwellings, and generally ate ourselves silly.

Over the course of the week, I’ll post photos from our adventures so that you can pretend you were there. In the mean time, we are celebrating our last day of vacation (today) by attending a baby care class and a breathing/relaxation technique class at our doula center! Which means that yes, we are having a doula at the birth, and yes, it has finally occurred to us that this baby is going to have to come OUT at some point. We should probably figure out how to get him out and what to do with him once he is here. Details, details.
